Last 2 weeks have been crazy. I put in a Switch Pitch tranny at TT's place. Of course it is not the ol' "drop 1 tranny put in another". But it did go in. We got the Hurst shifter in as well. Tranny shifts great and all and performed flawless on the ride home (no SP working because we didn't have time to wire up the timing box) . I bought one of those SP timers by Bruce Roe, he is an Olds guy but he builds a hell of a timer (now that I know, it's just too many bells and whistles for what I need-live and learn). Anyway I got the car home from TTs and the next day I set out to wire the timer and customize the center console to accept the new shifter.
Got everything wired up and had to feel the difference in the SP converter- Wholly Heavens to Murgatroid! I now have a Flash Stall speed in high stall of about 32-3500 RPM (Thanks Jim @ TSP he had the converter done for me)Which now equates to the car that couldn't break tires to one that LIGHTS THOSE MUTHA F'RS UP!:eek2: I drove it around for a few minutes, the SP stops working-****! I go through everything. . .Now I am pissed and tired. As I start the car the rear cigar lighter (in the center console) wire touched the passenger seat, grounding it'self and went up like prima cord. The car now filled with smoke. . . blah , blah, blah. No more cigar lighter for the rear passenger (almost no car) - long story longer. I bring it to my buddy John at Delta Transmissions in Commack NY, (he did the rebuild with Oregon Transmission Performance Parts-ebay) After testing out the solenoid he slaps his head and says "Ya know I had to spilce the solenoid wire in there, maybe it came loose from the connector I used"- YEAH, damn right it did, he used a splicing connector not a butt connector (which it should have been soldered. Ok we drop the pan and the wire is handing out of this connector I would use to "rob" 12V for a map light or something. After fixing the wiring then killing John and disposing of his body (in my head) we took a ride and yeah- she is a nasty bitch again. 3grand launches will do that!!
Next thing I know we are making a left U-Turn and it feel like I ran over a brick. I turn left again - yep it does it again. Looks like the 3.23 will need to get swapped with the old 3.07 rear cause I prolly wasted a spider gear! On top of all that I am parting Skull &CB and went into the T-shirt business -:Dou:
I love this hobby too much though - So it's off to TT's on Tuesday to fix her up for E-Town!
    Wish me luck:TU:
