We got some funny lectrical issues here on the Sportwagon. Sometimes but not always when I turn on the radio the charge light will come on and the radio will not work. This will usually coincide with the hot light coming on. The engine is definetly not hot when this happens. I ran some tests and found my battery to be fully charged and the alternator to be working. Also I swapped the voltage regulator. My thoughts were maybe a wiring issue or perhaps the alternator is going bad. Anybody have any ideas why these lights would be doing these things. ThankS!!!!! check the fuses. when my idiot light fuse blew, the charge light would come on when I started the car.
Those idiot lights can indicate a ground problem. On my car, I had a weird problem where the ground through the light actually kept the car running... -Bob Cunningham bobc@gnttype.org
