Picked up at carlisle, PA swap meet. In great shape. Cleaned it up and relubed it. I just dont know the application. Looks like an 8.2" 10 bolt but with 17 spline side gears. Any help? Thanks Ken G.
Can I get a measurement from the ring gear machined land to the table surface the bearing hub is sitting on in the picture is the example i need a measurement from / to. Jim
I still say 1963-1976 corvette 3 series posi. Just measure a unit I have on the shelf 17 spline a hair over 1 3/4 inches .... 25/32 ish. I do not have the calipers handy ... Jim
Thanks Jim. Corvette application is what I have come up with as well...searching online. Evidently there are a bunch of numbers for each series of posi's from back then. 30117 comes up series 3 30175 comes up series 4 32298 is nother number I think these units also differ from the 8.2" chevelle units in that they have different carrier bearings and the spline count is 17.
