Hey guys, I have the original 10 bolt differential out of my 1970 350 4spd GS on stands in the garage, trying to clean it up. I understand the ID stamps are located on the front side of the passenger side axle tube near the cast center section. (???) I have wire brushed and sanded a big part of that tube in that area and CANNOT find any stamped letters what so ever! Should I be looking somewhere else? I know the differential is the correct original one that came in the car (family owned since 71) and believe it should have LP (?) stamped on it as it is a 3.23 limited slip. Thanks in advance.

They are usually on the bottom of the tube, on the driver side. Usually 6-12 inches from the pumpkin, but I've seen them further.

Thank you, found it right where you said it would be!
