I want to say sorry that I have not kept this thread updated, but if you have looked around I have started other threads asking questions and you may have figured out that I am in fact keeping the car. I have since bought a 1994 Jeep Cherokee that is in great condition, and I now use this as my daily driver. I have also come to find a new spot in my heart for Jeeps!

Anyway, the current plan is for disassembly to start after the first of the year. I know many people say that I should have just taken the money and parted it out, but I just couldn't do that. Yes, it will be difficult, but I just view people saying that as a challenge. :TU: As I have previously stated, my sister's boyfriend, who I am also great friends with, his father restores cars for a living and he is who I bought the Skylark from. He is going to start restoring a Chevelle that I believe was rear ended this next spring and he has a donor frame which he only needs the back half of. He has graciously offered me the front half for absolutely no charge. He has also offered to help me do the rebuild. I have no idea how long the rebuild should take, but I do know that he can work very fast. I am hoping that the car with be road worthy by summer, and by the end of summer I am hoping to have a new quality paint job laid down. But as of right now the car is sitting in my garage, waiting for her time. Thanks for all the support everyone! I'll keep you all updated.

At 17 I did just about the same thing. I was driving home during a storm in my 72 nova when all the sudden the car seemed like it was lifted up and taken completly out of control. The drivers side door smashed into the side of a light pole destroying door, rocker panel, and my heart. I was so broken hearted; forget the cuts and bruises caused by shattered glass and impact. A few days later I was at the local salvage yard where I found a perfect door and rocker panel. By the end of the week my heart was healed as I realized that one of the greatest things about cars is they can be fixed with a little work or replaced. :TU:

I'll get em up asap. I'm not sure that much difference will be visable, since the only external damage shown was the front bumper hanging low... It's been a LONG 9 months. I honestly have dreams about it. But I am thankful for this community who has kept me positive and kept me wanting to keep it in the time where I thought parting it out or junking it would have been the best thing to do. Thanks guys! :TU:
