I Just wanted to post a few pics of our 1970 Buick GS 455 project car. It's been a long haul but the car ( I now call her Jenny ) is 99.9 % complete. This project has taken ten years to complete. The car was completely stripped, every nut bolt and screw. All rusted metal was replaced with new metal (there was a lot). The suspension was replaced with performance tubular suspension and four wheel discs were added. The 455 engine and 400 TH were completely rebuilt ( with some goodies added,... don't ask pls ). It's hooked up to a 10 bolt 3:73 posi. Full two and half inch magna flo cross over exhaust ( no headers, ceramic coated stock manifolds). The car now rides on 17 inch rallies ( California Racing ). All the chrome and bright work was redone or replaced with new. Interior is all new. Best of all for the wife the guy's at JH fitted the car with "vintage Air" so we can be cool while cruising. The car is finished as per Fisher body plate. diplomat blue, pearl white int. with white vinyl top. I have dedicated the build of this car to a good friend of mine, John Bowers, John got me started on this project in 2003. John and I were to build the car together but sadly John passed away tragically in 2007, Sooo this one is for Johnny R.I.P. We miss you every day. I would also like to thank everyone on this board that helped me with advise, locate hard to find parts. a lot of you gave me priceless information over the years and I truly appreciate it . All of us are lucky to have this site. Thanks to all of you who work hard to maintain this site. Please support them any way you can. I would like to thank JH Restorations In Windsor Ontario for their part in making this dream come true. These guys were the best to work with, if you think it can't be done they will do it. Please check them out on Face book, JH Restorations. The paint and body work on this car is flawless, i n fact all their work is flawless. I just can't say enough about them.
Wow Chris!! The car is gorgeous!! Congrats on your long journey. I am sure you will enjoy every minute with the car. And I am sure Johnny is enjoying watching over it as well.
Wow, that car is gorgeous! Sorry for the loss of your buddy, that would really be hard. But you did your (and his) efforts justice by building such a beautiful ride.
Great color combo, awesome job on the car. Good on you for carrying on in light of your friend passing on. Car looks great~
Outstanding looking car!!!! Has the right combination to set it apart and well above the norm. Beautiful color combo and nicely done! You should be proud!! Steve
The car looks great..Sorry to hear about your friend, but I'm sure he would (is and will) be happy with how she turned out:bglasses:
Beautiful car Chris. Losing a friend is never easy, but what an amazing way to remember him...especially when you stab the long, narrow pedal on the right.
Looks beautiful, Chris. I hope I get to see it at a show this summer..... And your upper door and 1/4 window trim looks familiar
