Yes. Dual master cylinder. Many people change their singles to duals. I've got a rebuilt single cylinder on mine.

Waiting for you to write it!

Did you try the search function yet? I don't know if dual circuit conversion for your car's been covered before or not.

This board member is in the process of converting his 55 Super. He and his parts man put together this system for his car. I don't know if, these specific parts would work for your car. But, perhaps , it will give you an idea on how/where to start.

I did in fact...... well i did a google search for it. i didint search in here for it but if it was in here then i would have found it on google anyway. I didnt find anything on this specific car. I guess i got to make sure my e-brake is working for now. X(

LowFlyLark Time for a mild custom.

I lost the master brake plunger in a 63 Lemans many years ago and went on a wild ride up the side of a hill when I found out the e-brake also didn't work. I almost went on another wild ride a few years ago in my 64 Skylark but that time I knew the e-brake worked. I have now replaced the single master with a douple. If you do a double you can put a pressure regulator in the rear line so you can control the rear lock up. Nothing wrong with upgrades for safety.

I did a full swop on my 64 from wrecking yard stuff. Master from 76 Chev truck, Front discs from 72 Nova, rear discs from 96 Camaro. The key is in the pressure regulator or pressure control valves.

I have some very good information on masters, pressures and lines. I will see if I can find it this weekend and post.

BTW I like your car. Great shape. Hope your put'n the miles on soon.

Great! I look forward to reading the info. Tomorrow i will start putting the miles on this car by using it as my weekend driver and getting to know it better. :)

Get rid of that single! The same exact thing can and will happen again if you spring just one leak, anywhere in the system. Seriously, it is such a cheap and easy swap. I swapped out the original single on my '57 Special last year, and including the master, lines, and brake switch, I put maybe $50 - $60 into it.
More than worth it for the peace of mind it brings, let alone the safety factor!

I plan to change it soon, other things keep getting in the way though. Phil R on this board helped me figure out what I need to do the swap for my car.

I understand. It took me two years to get around to changing the master on mine.......let alone the rest of work that [still] needs to be done.

I went through the same thing this past weekend ordered brakes they showed up 2 1/2 inches and a 5 lug drum. I lok around and found that 62 nova brakes will work and they are the right size but thedrum is still in the air did you get your drum or are you still having problems?
