I successfully started up my dual quad 425 sitting in the frame yesterday. It sounded perfect (of course any engine sounds great with open headers!). I ran it about 5 minutes, then shut it down to check for leaks/problems and found none. After that I never got it started back--have got to get a stronger battery--this new, tight engine takes some amps to crank, and I can only get one start out of it if I am lucky.
