I plan on selling some grills in the future and wondered if anybody had an information on how to package one for shipping?
Do you make a crate for it ? Box it up? I just want to make sure they get to their destination unbroken!! :ball:

    Can anybody help?

    Thanks Dustin :TU:

    Bruce,
I bet it's a couple of 70, 71, and 72 GS grills, you know the normal stuff that Everyone has laying around.

    Dustin,
I usually get a heavy duty cardboard box and float pack the grills in plastic peanuts. Make sure the box has a few inches of room completely around the grill, it will be a big box. Then I use plenty of clear packaging tape and insure the crap out of it.

I went to the local big U-Haul store and bought 2 boxes and made one big one, and the folks at UPS, said nice job! Was loads of fun! RV

  17. For expensive stuff like a grille, I go to the local Package Store, and have them special make a heavy duty double-walled cardboard box, leaving a couple inches of space surrounding the grille. Cost $15-$20 but worth the added safety. Bubble pack also works well to surround the grille. I personally don't like peanuts, I think they let the item move around too much, if the box gets tossed around by a careless handler. Just my preference.

u might consider constructing a box from 5/8" plywood with screws & of course use lots of bubble wrap & syrofoam peanuts .
for the prices u may ask & sell for , it would well be worth the buyers satisifaction .

If you sell them both to Bruce, you probably won't have to worry about shipping them, just have him come and get them. WI to PA isn't that far for him.

Be sure to put the grilles in a barn or out building of some sort first though, it makes for a better story.
