Well Boys and Girls, don't ever say that grassroots political movements don't work. I just read an update on Englishtown's website that had me jumping up and down for joy! All the phone calls, faxes, e-mails, and letters (including mine!) actually made enough of an impact on our New Jersey state legislators to get them to shut down the attempt to regulate racing out of existence. Don't ever think you can't fight city hall. We just fought and WON!! :TU: :beer Here's the link if you want to check it out: http://www.racewaypark.com/
Maybe my threat to string their entrails like porch lights scared them into submission. Great news!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very cool, Doug! Congratulations! :beer :3gears: :beer And you're right....you CAN beat city hall sometimes if you fight hard enough. I just had a "win" myself on a totally unrelated issue.....had to go to the Minnesota State High School League, then the Department of Education, then finally the Federal Office for Civil Rights.....I think they gave up 'cause they could see I wouldn't! LONG LIVE RACEWAY PARK!!!! :3gears: :TU:
Wow, you just found this out now? I'll post any info I get passed on to me here from now on, this news is a few weeks old. I even had the home addresses of those who introduced the bill, just in case I had to pay them a "visit".
Artie, I check RP's website once a week and this is the first time I saw the news that the bill was withdrawn. The first post that the bill had been introduced was only a couple of weeks ago.
