I hope to God that this board won't be attacked again

I just want to post this that I really hope to God that this board won' t be attacked again in the future. The person that did this does not realize the damage that he caused to people that are just trying to enjoy their hobby.Plus,there are a number of people on this board that are in business and advertise here.Just think the adverse effect that this had on their businesses,and I'd be really angry if I were one of these people.Maybe justice will be served in finding the hacker(s).

I'd like to add that the website looks very professional and it is great to see this board back on again. :TU:

So what happened to the board anyways ? I noticed it was down but never asked why.

 

I got on it on 9/3 about 4 AM. The page came up with an unregistered note. The borders said F___ you alllllllll. Not sure what happened but someone was pissed. My brother said someone who got kicked off hacked it.

Is there any way to track down the hacker?

If anything at all, I am sure there are several members close enough to really make them sorry. Heck maybe to the point that they will never operate a keyboard again...

the exploit for vbulletin has been know for several months
and here it is

as an admin,
allowing your website/server to be hacked only happens to you once.
then you begin to pay attention to keeping your system updated.
how do i know, because it happened to me once.

thanks for all the hard work to get us back online,
i can imagine how large the database for this thing is,
which would complicate any backup procedure that is now
in place.

i just started coming here a couple of months ago,
and it suprised me how much time i 'wasted' here.
