Decided it was to to fire up the BBB and cook the paint on the exhaust manifold and check the new heater core for leaks. Been more than a year. Had to do it in the garage however. Spun the oil pump, stabbed the dizzy back in and 3rd time it fired. Set the timing and boy - it's good to hear it run. Tried to buy the rubber hoses the gas stations use to pipe the exhaust out of their shop but found them to be really expensive. I found a roll of metal flex pipe cheap and cut it in two so I could run the exhaust out of the garage.
Wow! was that silver stuff really 100.00??? Sounds worth every penny! Sounds like the RV Trieste is ready to go! ws
I broke the cam in on my truck the same way, but I borrowed about 40 feet of the black rubber exhaust hose from work and put it onto the open headers. It was a great idea till I burned the bejebus out of my hands on the rubber hoses
yeah, & when they get hot they fill the place up with the smell of burning rubber & smoke & not the good kind.
Actually the walker 40007 was about $60 for 25 feet 2.5" OD. Yeah, well duh, dummy me! That P/N looked like 100.00 in the vid. Now its more like 40 007 ws
