I can think of quite a few things to call it. Ugly jumps out as the first one...:p

I saw something similar to this at the cruise in this past Sunday. It was a 99 Camaro with a 57' Chevy body kit. The same question crossed my mind as to what to call it but I actually thought it was kind of neat. This, however, just doesn't flow. It's trying way too hard.

Call it ugly if you will.. but it looks better than the Camaro/57 Cheve kit

Haha. That one actually looks quite different than the one I saw, which was a convertible and I think that made a difference.

To me they are just ugly and I don't understand why you would do that? I feel like for the money you'd have in that you could fix up or buy a classic car. I will have to say the truck and camaro look better than the thunder chicken.

I agree completely. The "Bel Cam Air" thing was sort of neat but there's no way in hell I would spend my money on something like that.

The word "abortion" came to mind first. And that covers every one of them.

I remember when the '04 GTO hit the streets, the Chebbie enthusiasts were mad it wasn't a Chevelle. Someone embarked on a 'restyle' that was akin to these--front clip, rear quarters, paint, emblems, trim all '70 Chevelle SS. Hot Rod was a backer, and were all up in the shop, featured progress each month, styling sketches, glimpses, etc. Then the big debut came--it was a turd. It was fugly from every angle. The panel fit was like cardboard taped on. And it added the cost of a nice used Chevelle to the 32kish price of a new GTO. Anyone have a pic?

I don't like any of them, but that green truck actually hurts my eyes. Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and for every scraggly horse, there is a scraggly bush to tie it to. Or something like that. For instance, no way in the world would I own a '58 Edsel. Well, it would look better with that T-Bird body on it! Yeesh.

Some pretty good examples of what might have seemed like a good idea on paper. Too bad they didn't have an artists rendition or a clay model done before wasting so much time and money.

Found some. I was wrong about price--$85k with stock drivetrain, $125k with the 600hp upgrade. Yikes.

Me too. In my own, of coarse. Those vehicles show that money can not buy good taste. Now to go rinse my mug out.

I couldn't quite put my finger on it at first as to why these kits don't appeal to me. I finally figured it out. It's the flat, drab saides. There's no body lines like there used to be which ran the entire length of the cars. Like on that 57 kit. I guess it's sort of cool but to me is has the flavor of the VW Beatle with the Rolls Royce nose. LOL

Edit: I looked at some pics of real 57's and actually the sides of those are like billboards, no creases. So I don't know what I was thinking. But the doors on the real ones sweep down, then up again, maybe that is what I was thinking of.

    Im with you...
The rake of the modern windshields doesn't lend itself to classic lines...
