The pipes are a little rusty but they work. At least I can run the car without pissing off the neighbors.
Now this is killing Me:rant: The cat is running in the drive and I can't go any place I am hoping to have paint next week and I should have all My tuneup parts this week. Then I need the top and carpet. Any suggestions on a good supplier would be great. The sound on My cam is really crappyuzzled: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M263...DvjVQa1PpcFM_ZQLNzcSih2g6UF40cip9q74TSDnitc8=

I need to order a carb kit and just want to be sure it is the correct one. My parts guy thinks it is a blue streak 283D. I can only find 2 #s on the carb 1743 passenger side and 1721 on the driver side. any help would be great.:TU:
I pulled the seats and console belts and all the glass from the rear window. I lost count on the glass chunks after 9999.ou: Shop vac is a great tool:TU: I ran the wires for the neutral safety switch and will hit it all with the wire brush in the AM.
This was a fun day:TU: I stripped and gave the floor a good coat or undercoat. I ran all My seat belts in a load of work clothes and they came out smelling spring fresh and they look great:Brow: (Don't tell My wife) I had an old tack and it fit in the console sweet:kodak: The carpet is $2 mats from Giant Tiger that I cut to fit (just temporary)
I put a new set of AC plugs in yesterday and it runs much better. :TU: I should have a carb kit this week. I have most of the int lights working and need to go get bulbs this morning so I can put it all back together and see if this old tach worksray:
Just noticed something in the pics; - you really need to get a breather-style oil cap on the driver's side valve cover, otherwise your PCV system will not work right. This could cause run-ability issues...especially with vacuum, so there may actually be nothing wrong with your carb.
Thanks Marc, I had never thought of that I will see if I can get one today. I do need a carb kit bad as My secondary's are stuck solid. We played with the carb and the timing yesterday and it seams a lot better.:TU:
I got a new toy today. My father had this in His box for years and not touched it in many . Probably decades ou: I will say it made tuning the nail head way better:bla: I had no luck getting a vented oil cap so i left the cap off for tuning purposes and now it runs like a scared cat (it has balls)
I pulled the dash today to clean it up an put a couple of factory parts in but no build sheet:ball: I am thinking it was lost years ago I will sand and paint the lower dash tonight and reassemble tomorrow :TU:
Dash is painted and ready for reassembly:laugh: I will start this in the AM. The dash pad in the front of the second pic is up for grabs. I have a post in the parts for sale section if any body is interested :Brow:
It is all together:spank: I have one plug that has no home? Any ideas or should I just hide it and forget about it:idea2: The clock works but runs very slow:shock: I will pull it out later and clean it to see if that helpso No: I need to send the radio in to be fixed but it looks better in the dash than on the bench till then. All I need now is paint top and carpet but that is all:dollar: that i don't have at the moment.
Now this will be a fun week:Brow: I got My paint and carb kit on the same day:3gears:I have My carb soaking and if all go's well I will have it on tomorrow. I have the spray booth booked a week monday so I have a lot of work to do this week:spank:
I just got home from a swap meet in Richmond Hill and You can probably guess how many Buick parts I found:rant: One set of hub capsuzzled: now I will go reassemble My carb vid to follow:TU:
That was funou: I have rebuilt lots of Q jets but this was My first Carter:eek2: It was not bad but it is a good thing I took lots of pics:Smarty:. It runs good but I still have some fine tuning :3gears:
I think I have it where I like it:TU: It runs smooth at 600 RPM and drops to 400 in gear. No stall and it bucks like a mule when I touch the gas:eek2: I have the dwell set at 24 and about 8 degrees advanced I will know more when I get it out on the black top:3gears:
