I've had some really horrible screeching noise coming from somewhere on the car for quite some time now. I initially though that the rear axle needed a restoration - and it did for a number of reasons - but that's not where the noise was coming from. The culprit was a broken outer front wheel bearing. I'm quite impressed that I could even drive with this (links to an external site as I can't attach images for some reason): <iframe src="https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=661051E2E06C91C2&resid=661051E2E06C91C2%21220876&authkey=AKv7ObZ_KxuC7z0" width="320" height="180" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>
Yep...hopefully screeching was bearing noise...not seized bearing turning on spindle...good luck with your repair.
I lucked out and the spindle is fine. And now I also know what a broken front wheel bearing sounds like.
