I am looking at purchasing a rear posi unit. However the guy says that it has a 10 bolt cover with 12 bolts holding the ring gear on, and measures 8.5'' and has 28 spline axles. What in the world is it? And is it what I need for the 8.5'' 72 lark.
    thanks

What's wrong with the 8.5 rear in your 72 Lark?

So just buy the posi and gears, and have them installed. The 8.5 is a good strong rear with bolt in axles.

    thats the plan. Thanks larry.
P.S it turns out it was a c clip carrier anyway and i believe ours are bolt in axles.

Post some pictures of the rear diff under your car... i THINK LARRY'S IDEA WILL SUITE YOU BETTER and save you heads aches in the long run. 71 72 8.5 rears will do the job for your csr street or strip. Jim

I can even help guide you through set up if you like...All you need is time and patients. Dial indicator will help too. :) Jim
