Do you live in Morgan Hill as in Temecula Ca. If you do I am right around the corner in wine country 5 minutes away. If not you are probably way too far up north for me to take a look or cc your heads.

I wish Ken its beautiful down there. I live up North near San Jose Ca. I make it down south 3 or 4 times a year though. Maybe I could go by one of those days and check out your ride. I wish I was closer because I would really like to get my heads cc'd. Thanks for the offer.

Paul yea I looked at that when Steve posted it. It looks really nice just don't know how hard its gonna be to tune with the spacer and Dominator.

I was gonna purchase it but I'm gonna wait because I want to get the springs checked out that are on my heads. I don't know which ones they are and I want to make sure they are the right ones for the .530+ lift I'm gonna have. Maybe I'll get them CC'd at the same time if its only like 30 bucks.

Joe if you have room they sell 1" spacer they have different size nozzels/hp you can adjust with the pressure at the pump.I had no problems if you know your hp.good luck

Do you have E85 in your area? If so, you could run straight E85 and increase the compression. Or leave SCR as is and mix E85/gas.

    How about water/alky injection?

If you can't take .008-.010" off the top of a piston then throw them out. Take a look at a .010" feeler gauge from the side. If removing that much off the top of a piston causes them to get weak then there is no margin for error built into them. Most notches a piston maker has built in will take at least .600" lift so your cams should not be a problem.

Since a small cut like that would get you below the deck level you can use a standard Orange Crush head gasket. The .008-.010" would insure you are below the deck. Fel-Pros won't put up with that compression.

I used to run 104+ when I had 11-12:1 compression on the street with no problem. When I went to the track I'd dump in some race gas. I also had an MSD Ping Control on my dash for emergencies. These days I like the alcohol injection stuff if I ran that high of a compression.

Steve do you have any pictures of your setup? Scott I have to do some research to see if we have E85 out here. I know we have 100 octane right down the street from me. Mike for some reason it just seemed like Ross didn't want to waste there time with such a small machining job for me. I doubt there is not enough material. I put them up against the forged Stage 2 pistons I have and let look just as meaty. I've done all the numbers with the .050 Cometic gasket and the pistons sticking out .007. The quench should be at .043 and the DCR at 8.3 which is close to Jim Weise's thread 8.1 is Ideal.

Joe,for the Buick,Cometic makes ,0.78 and also 1.20 ,my son used the 0.78 in he's 87GN with the 455,the car first time out did 10.80 with 11 to compression, and for the street used 93 octane,at the track,he added 110 cam2.Those gaskets are pricey ,but worth it,don't have to worry much about any damage with them.BrunoD.

Thanks Bruno. I'm gonna go with the cometic. I have to get this motor finished and I think all you guys have helped me BIG time. Now I've done all the research and hopefully I'll get it right. I'll have more questions I'm sure!
