Well we finally got the 5500 pound '70 Electra together. I got the nine inch installed and screwed up when I put 4:56 gears in it, car RPM'd out at 6000 so I had to let out of it. The head gaskets also went on the maiden run along with the spark plug tips. We were figuring the stock engine with the cast pistons would be the first to go but they stayed there. Only went a 12.50 @109.65 MPH 1/4 time. We installed the .120 Cometic head gaskets on the '76 block and went ahead and put the head studs in too. I went ahead and put the long push rods in while I was at it. I was planning to save this stuff for the "real engine". We changed the gear to a 4:10 and only got a 10.41 @ 121.46 MPH out of it after we figured out the wastegate was set too low. I guess getting fuel pressure to the second boost referanced regulator to the new injector that sprays the "extra fuel" in right above the blow-through carb helped a bit too. I guess I may take some more gear out of it and run the boost up above 25 PSI and see what it takes to break th engine so I'll know were I need to spend the bucks to get one to go fast! HAPPY APRIL FOOLS! Floyd.
