.038 over 455, Pontiac h-beams, flat top pistons, 0 deck, ported stg 1 converted heads off my 430, sp-1 253-270 cam, ta intake, 850 demon carb. Any guess as to HP?

Since you didn't mention any porting on the heads, I'm gonna say 505hp. Porting on the heads I'd go 520. Also, its highly dependant on what dyno is being used.

    P.s., I love this game!!

OK, if I throw on some stg 2 se's or some of the cnc ported edelbrocks, what kind of number am I looking at? Leaning toward the Eddy's so I don't have to build new headers for the studebaker. But I could do some new ones for a stg 2's if I had to.

I have gessler ported Eddy's and dyno'd at 540 with .030 over and probably less compression than you have (do you know what compression is on this setup?). With some ported aluminum heads I'd bet 550+. They really do make that big of a difference.

Don't know on the compression, guessing 12, 13 to one? Needing at least .040 head gasket with zero deck, from what I see on here in discussions. I built the 430 in the car now 18 yrs. ago. Basically freshened up the stock long block, then added the ported heads, and the usual bolt on hot rod stuff. So, I have one successful BBB build under my belt. I'll probably ask a thousand questions before this is done.

A killer flowing set of heads would make that thing a monster! It'd be totally worth it with your combo in my opinion, a huge difference over even ported irons.

As an aside, I saw your car at BG and gotta say it's a really cool piece!

Thanks for the comment on the car, when I put this car together years ago, I was gonna be happy if it ran 13's in the quarter. It has now gone 11.72 with the same old 430 I first put together. Figured I would put the new motor together with the iron heads, see what it runs. Then later do the aluminum head deal and see how much change. Hoping it's gonna wind up needing the wheelie bars my buddy George (Buick Nut) has offered up. Had a blast at BG this year, never did figure out why it slowed down every run Thursday, left it sit Friday figuring the motor was hurt. Decided Saturday I had hauled way too far to just sit and watch, decided to run or blow it up trying, wound up running quickest 1/8 mile ever. Of course that didn't matter against those cars in renegade class, like bringing a knife to a gun fight!
