The title pretty much says it all...

    window sticker

The paper had a glue on the front surface, and when wetted, it would stick to the inside of the window. To remove the sticker in one piece you needed to soak it with a sponge until the glue loosened enough to remove the sticker. Most times, they were just scraped off, which accounts for the scarcity of original window stickers. Later on, they were attached by glue only at the bottom and top, allowing them to be removed in one piece.

I spoke with a buddy and he remembers taking the window sticker off his family's new 1973 Caddy. He said it was glued all around the perimeter, but not over the writing.

I just got a repro sticker done by Mike and it is super!!!

Unlike reproduction Texas Air National Guard documents, even the typeface is correct vintage 1970!!!!!
Can't wait to show it off at the track this weekend.

    Good job, Mike!
