I have started restoring a 1970 GS Stage1 4 speed car. This car has been sitting outside in South West Texas since 1986. Overall the body is pretty solid with the usual back window issues (vinyl top) which caused the trunk to rust out. I'm finding a lot of light to heavy surface in various places. Like in the cowl area, under the headliner, behind the kick panels and yes inside and under the back window area. Most of this I'm removing with a drill and wire wheel and then spraying Eastwoods Rust Encapsulator over the area. Some of these areas are to small for the wire wheel. Has anyone used phosphhoric acid as a way to treat rust? I have done some research on line and it looks promising, but would like to hear from someone who has used it. Thanks, Kraig
I only use phosphoric acid and it works great. See the article on the site below about cowl leaks and rust. You can get it at Home Depot.
