425 Dual Quad Restoring 65 'Lark - help

    Hi Guys,

Hope you all had a good Chrimstmas and are looking forward to 2007. The best to all of you. I am. This is the year I hope to get the '65 Skylark on the road!!!

I need to do some welding around the area where the roof meets the window frame on the rear side windows. Car is a 2 door post coupe. Please, how do I remove that wide flat satin silver trim that goes round the rear and top of the rear side window outside the car without kinking, bending or creasing it?
It's in the way of where I want to weld. I have a small flat trim removal tool with a quarter inch wide flat curved blade and a tool that is a round point with a 45 degree bend in it and that's about all I have relevant in the tool box.

Also how do you remove the drip channel molding? Mine is satin blacked and not silver. I'd like to clean it up and clean in underneath and behind it.

I know this is the interiors section but I couldn't find a section relating to exterior trim!!

    Thanks all!

    regards
