How to read Plate Info

I Hope this is not a question that is really easy to find...but I think it is.....Here it goes anyway..... I was wondering how to read the plate on the fire wall about my car.......... it goes like this:

ST 65-46237 (Means Bodytype) DDA Paint | <-------is the plate on
TR 401 (means motor size) | Fire wall

171 |

___________________________________________ |

This much I figured out but the rest is a mystery to me?
Is There aplace I can find this info out? has it been already posted?
I have the book called "THE STANDARD CATOLOG OF BUICK" But it does not show how to read the *PLATE* info

It is no problem,just a few hours seaching the night before for the same thing for my Riv.Had to end up going to The Paper Trail to get the last bit of info.
