As stated in another post, I`ve got a 70 GS. It has been verified as a true 455 car. It has "Stage 1" emblems on the front fenders. The question is: How can I identify if this is a Stage 1 car and Stage 1 engine?
This car was purchased a couple years ago. It is a project for sure, but it is COMPLETE. It had been sitting in a field for many years.
I`m considering getting it back on the road. If not, I`m selling as-is.

Is it an automatic or 4-speed? If you decide to sell it please let me know. I just located another 455 car. It too has Stage 1 emblems. You have to look for a code SS stamped on the block between #5 & 7 sparkplugs. I would like to be first on your list if you decide to sell. How soon do you think you will know? If I don't buy it I have a friend that most likely will. :TU: Let me know. :beer

donnie, its also possible that the car could be a stage 1, but if the engine was replaced at some time, it could have a code other than SS. it would be worth it to get the info from sloan museum. henry
