how to decode a trim tag?

    How do you do it?

    Heres mine for the 72 Stage 1:

    ST72 43437FL1 046673BDY
    TR 137 63 T PNT
    09D A51

    A51 = bucket seats

    Thre rest is pretty straight forward.

    ST72 = 72 model year
    434 = GS
    37 = hardtop
    FL1 = Flint line 1
    046673BDY = Fisher body sequence number
    TR 137 = TAN Bucket seats
    63 = exterior paint color
    T PNT = Top color (my guess is Tan)
    09 = September
    D = 4th week
    A51 (my catalog does not show)

    There rest of the info can be found in the 72 service chassis manual and/or assembly manual.

    Double check the T and make sure it is not an F. I never heard of a T top code but not sure on 72's

    Burnished Copper exterior with a Covert Vinyl Top

    I think the same guy at Buick that thought up the color name
    Verde Green came up with Covert......:Dou: They already had a vinyl top that was Tan so lets confuse the world with Covert :Do No: With a convertible top is called Sandalwood.......go figure..............

    In Spanish would it be Green Verde?:confused:

    Verde translated to english is "green".

    So the color code 57 for 1969 Verde Green would be "Green Green".

    Here's one Dave,

    1971 code 49, Verdemist Green.......:eek2:

    So that would be Green misty Green? Or in Ole Mehico Verde mistyo Verde?:beers2:
