Hi, I have this thread in the "Boatload" area, but am not getting a ton of looks. So, I put it here also. In short, I bought a dual quad 425 freshly rebuilt that has been sitting in my old high school friend's garage for a long time. I finally got him to sell it to me so I could use it in a Riv project in the future, but then he tells me he has the original car to go with it for free. So, I got the car hauled over and looked at it. It is a 4 door hard top Electra complete. Body is in good shape with only minor rust issues. Interior is in need of the normal things. Here are the options: eye on the dash cruise possible posi rear defrost power everything including vent windows am/fm 4 note horns I don't know much about Electras, so I posted this question. Is this a rare car? Dual 4 engines were Riv options in most cases I thought. Thanks
available in 1964 this engine option was availbable on Riviera, Electra, Wildcat & LeSabre Wagon - cars you wouldn;t expect to be found with this option pop up on occasion - a 64 LeSabre Estate Wagon with this option was discussed at great lenght on the BCA board a while back
A long time ago my dad bought a '65 Electra 225 "C". It came with the 425, dual quads, switch pitch TH 400 and dual exhaust. It was a 4 door sedan. If I remember right I believe he was told that they made something like 800 of them but I don't remember for sure. We were talking about that car this weekend and how he wishes he still had it. It would definetly make a cool cruiser. Ken
Power locks, power trunk, tilt added to the list. Rust on the bottoms of the rear doors that would require filler. Car was a light gold color. My original plans were to pull the rare items and haul it off for the shredder. BUT, now I hate the thoughts of doing that. But again, I hate to install the rare dual 4 engine in it when it could be used in a more expensive Riv I have. You really don't see many of them anymore. The ultimate family ride!!
