I really need something bigger under the hood. The 3.8L just doesn't do it for me. I'm thinking of either a 350 or 455 swap. For anyone that has done a swap like this before was it a reasonabley affordable project or was it a money pit? I don't have all the money in the world so I need something fairly pricey. Anyone with any ideas, suggestions, or any help they could give me it would be greatly appreciated.

You may want to refer down at the Regals with extra cylinders. Lots of info there.

But at any rate, I'll generalize some info here. I think the 350 is the easiest swap and the cheapest. You can use all the bracketry and frame mounts with ease. The fan shroud will work if you cut a couple inches off of it. 350's are a dime a dozen around Pittsburgh. Most are the newer ones though.

A 455 swap is pretty straighforward as well. You'll have to get frame pads from TA. The brackets will work, but you'll have to use ones that came with the 455 or use the V6's with spacers. With the 455 you'll have to take in consideration on what's behind your motor. The orig tranny will blow up as will the rear end. If its a stock 455 they might live a little longer.

Just a summery of what to do. You'll figure out what the guys in the Regals forum are talking about, when it comes time to get dirty.

    Have fun!!

How about looking for a used turbo motor for it? Seems like the obvious thing to me. Keep the stock regal appearance on the outside. Sleeperdom.
