what would you guys estimate to do a big block swap into an 87 WE-4. i'm toying with the idea of keeping all the turbo stuff to swap into an s10. not really looking for stage performance but just a driver. i would need to locate a 455 as well as a tranny. another 4 spd auto would be nice but i would settle for a 3 spd auto. then the question is what could i expect to get out of it once the s-10 was on the road. i'm getting ready to try to sell the we-4 but the swap idea popped into my mind

I think a lot of people on this board are gonna say keep the turbo 6 in that regal and look for a plain jane Regal in good shape to dump a 455 into.

    trade?

Heya GNfreak, you be interested in a possible trade?

I got an '83 in solid condition that would love to stuffed w/a 455.

And I'm w/meanmotor, being that I'd rather have the turbo than the V8 in mine, I'd hate to see the turbo go.

I gotta site for my Regal link below sig, check it out. :bglasses:

thats a nice 83! i'm not looking for any trades really, just want cash. i think i have a guy from st. louis interested in the 87 we-4 turbo t. he sez he needs to sell an older cutlass 442 first. i'm going to give him a week or so then hit the classified sections of all the forums i am a member of (v8buick.com,turbobuick.com, turbobuicks.com, t6p.com, s10forum.com)we just bought the kid a nice 93 z28 and i am going to take over driving his 97 s-10. the truck has 131000 miles so im sure i will have to do something relatively soon. i'm thinking bout some kind of engine swap, be it a v8 or v6.
we'll see how the attempted sale goes, i know what i need to get out of the car.

    howabout the 4.3 cyclone route?

Thanx for the compliment on the '83, I put about 200 miles on her today, I really enjoy driving this car, I think that if I would put a 4bbl carb on it, it'd do alot better.

I'm finishing up a 455 swap in my '85 T-Type, I also thought about putting the turbo motor in an s-10, but don't have the time or money right now. I'm not completely finished, but I've only spent somewhere between $1500 and $2000, and it's running.

'76 455 (~1500 miles) w/ stage 1 heads, Hooker super comps that were supposedly never used (the guy I sold them to said they were), extra crank, extra set of rods & pistons, extra set of heads, factory exhaust manifolds... $700

    Holley Street Avenger... $400

Misc. parts, bolts, hoses, etc... $250

    Dynomax bullet mufflers & custom 2 1/2" exhaust... $260

    Gauges... $60

That's pretty much everything I can think of so far. All that's left is a radiator...
