    11SecondGS ROCK THIS

    Nothing Major

I know this is primarily v8 chat, but I need some quick opinions. I can get a we4 for cheap cheap, however it knocks bad. So the motor will need to be gone through, possible new crank. All new bearings.

How much would it take to redo the short block on a V6 - 87 motor. The only performance parts would be getting everything balanced, nice head gaskets, and good bearings.

Any things to look out for? Opinions? Anything is welcome. I want to know what I might get myself into.

The car is clean and in real good shape.

    Thanks
    Josh

For stock rebuilds go to flatlanderracing.com They have excellent rebuild kits there and cheap too. The rest is machine work, but I cant imagine youd have to have everything balanced if its stock? Turn the crank, hone cylinders(if you can get away with it), re-ring, re-bearing. Shoudln't be bad.

    alec296 i need another buick

if its knockin its gonna need atleast 1 rod.more than likely crank is gonna
need some major cutting if not junk. dont weld up cranks on turbo cars.
also flush oil cooler and turbo feed lines to get metal out of it
chances are turbo is full of bearing material so count on it going out
if you can do some yourself count atleast a grand for machinework
    not including parts
and a rebuild on the turbo $600 or more
research any oil mods -cant hurt to do
