How much oil does a 400 take?

Hello, my dip stick is a little "funny". It was custom made but it doesn't have any marks to tell you if you are full or low or anything. So I'm gonna do a complete drain and fill and I'd like to know how much oil to put in. Then I could mark my dip stick for that level so that I would know where the full mark is. Thanks.
Oh, it's a 1968 or 1969 400 BB that has been bored out to standard bore 430.
    Thanks,

If the filter is also changed, 5 qts.
If refilling only without changing the filter, 4 qts.

Add the oil, run it for a few minutes to warm it up, then shut it off and let it sit for a few minutes to allow the oil to drain back. Then take your reading and make your mark.

If you want you can also do the procedure a quart low so you can make your "Add 1 Qt" mark too.
