I'm guessing it's a '82 because they said it is a non FI GN engine, but I'm not really sure. It runs and has 62,000 miles on it. Any idea what a fair price to pay for this is?
My brother picked up one of those from a '79 Sport Coupe LeSabre. Car didn't have any paperwork, so he pulled the engine/tranny and junked the rest. Shame too...car drove pretty well. I think he only paid a couple hundred for the whole car. Gotta be worth that. Alan - Have you looked at the 'Before Black' part of www.turbobuick.com yet? He has his own website for those cars...quite informative!!
Not worth much for collector value, they were not very desirable due to low HP numbers. Not worth much for the high HP crowd either. If it were me, I'd offer $500 - $1500, depending on the condition of the car that surrounds it (assuming the engine and turbo are in good working condition). Engine only, in good running condition, maybe $500 or so. Just my opinion. Someday it might be worth something as a piece of nostalgia, but I think you have a decade or two to wait for that. -Bob Cunningham
Yep! Before black is how I decided it was probably an '82 and not an '85 as stated. I know it won't make the power of the later engines but it should be a little less complicated also, just don't want to pay more than I need to for something with limited potential. Well, I have more time than money!
