Doug, I may be interested in your crank because mine is bad and I'm considering rebuilding the motor..........or just forget it and put something else in. Any decisions on possibly selling it?

i might have to sell it. I was looking for what it might be worth before I say yes for sure. If i can get the money i need to fix my 65 with the 455 and put it on the road with what I sell the crank for then it will be sold.

Doug, do you have or are putting a 455 into a '65 Riv? Or is it some other Buick? If it is into a Riv, I'd sure like to know some of the specifics as I would like to do the same.

No the 455 is in a skylark. I think there was a guy that put a 455 in a 65 Riv and it was on the cover of one of my GSXtras. I got ask a Question about the crank. The rods and main bearing sizes are the same. you could use a stock rod or a after market witha custom piston. The gentle men I bought this crank from some time back told me he had used a chevy rod and a cutom piston. The crank was sold to me like it is and has never been in a motor.I had plans to build the fastest 65 GS Nailhead. I planed to get a set of chevy rods and custom pistons with about 13.1 to 1 and have the heads ported witha ll the good stuff with it. anyway I sold the GS(a post car) and have only nothing else for it to go in. I have just 455 parts. and need to get my 455 65 lark on the road. I asked both my dad and brother if they wanted this crank and both of them are restoring ther GS's. The crank says Mickey Thomson on it. I bought it from a gentle men that was cleaning out all his buick stuff. He at the time had 5 cranks just like it and one that was in a ford pick up. I called him some time after getting the crank and the number has been shut off. I wanted to get one more just because. Well anyway I would like $1000.00 for it only because I need it to get my 455 done. If you want to trade or make a offer please e-mail me and lets talk. I would like to see this go to a nailhead guuy that is going to use it .
    Thanks Doug
