I have been off on a long weekend since 11:00 a.m.Weds.Since then I have been laying around, doing dishes and laundry, plus checking in(living on according to my wife)V8.The problem is that my computer is in the attic which is now bedrooms. But before you get to the attic, you must climb 14 steps to get to the second floor. After that you now have to go up 12 more.Since I am not in the best shape(over 40 overweight a few lbs)and it is a real hassle when you are attempting to help the wife with laundry.I can hear the dryer buzzer go off and now its to the races.I have to fly down the 12 steps, cut the corner, scale the 14 then into the basement where 10 more await me.I never thought that much about it before, but today it was very irritating.I have done 5 loads and ran those steps all afternoon. After the 3rd load I got to thinking, who the heck would build a house like that?Wy not put 12 steps to every level? How about 10? What idiot didn't think this out more thoroughly? After little thought,I figured I came up and down them steps over 400 times all day.All to check out a website that has me totally hooked.Man i'll tell you,by the end of the winter with all of this stair climbing,I should be fit and trim or maybe I'll just put the computer down stairs .If I ever build a house, the only steps I'll have is to the basement. So,how many steps do you have in your house?

I live in a "split level" so i have 7 up, and 7 down. Very easy, if you live in the same house for 14 years.

Pat, I'm so glad you're back on v8.
This is the kind of stuff we sorely missed :(

Four steps up to get into the modest ranch,
Eleven down to the unfinished dungeon :puzzled:

You know, people pay money for exercise like that! Consider how much money your saving over a gym membership.

12 To go upstairs, 12 to go downstairs, 5 to get in the back door, 5 to get in the front. No railing on the stairs to go downstairs which is real fun when you lose your balance while halfway up them while carrying two baskets of laundry.

From basement to attic is 45 steps, 15 each level.

12 from my basement up to the main floor
3 from the garage up to the main floor
3 up to the porch on my shop
3 up to the deck on my house
2 up from the patio to the addition
1 up from the addition to the main floor
9 from the basement up to outside through the cellar door.

I guess that makes 33 total on the property, 18 that I use regularly
