    All:

How many cans of dulpicolor should I use for a 350? I used 2.5 cans and felt that was more than enough.

I did not paint the timing cover or H2O pump.

I don't want the paint to shrink/thin once some miles are put on the car. However, I also don't want a gummy mess.

    Thoughts are appreciated.

    :)

I used the paint that CARS sells if that makes any difference but I only used about 1 1/2 to 2 cans mostly because I put very light coats on the intake manifold and water pump that had already been painted. I also didn't bother to paint the flywheel or the rear of the engine becuase no one would see it anyways.

2 cans is more than enough , you dont want to build the paint up too much . you want to spray light even coats just enough to get good even coverage.. good luck .mike

I usually use plasticote engine primer underneath the paint (light grey works best), and you get coverage somewhat quicker and clearer. You can usually get by with two very light coats of color that way, and it tends to not burn off as fast.

I used the CARS paint and it was OK except for the intake manifold in some spots. What did I do wrong?
