I accumulated these #s from a book called "50 Years of American Automobiles", published in 1989. The figures are low by the number of 400s offered in Sport Wagons and Optional 455 applications from 1973 to 1976.
Tommy, i was just gonna look up how many 455 were made. But you beat me to it. Nice to know. :TU:

1 in the car, here, and 1 going to the scrap man Monday. Because of the #s of these big GMs that go to Demo Derbies w/ transplanted SBC engines, I would think core motors would be abundunt for some years to come. In 1973 Big Buick production dropped by almost half and never recovered. This was before the energy crisis, but after Volkswagon, hippies, and the Whole Earth Catalogue. I was one of those Hippies then, and owned a 62 Electra coupe I paid $125 for, in excellent condition. Wasn't paying attn. to market trends but loved cruising So. Cal. in my Buick.
