How long on engine stand?

    I've heard that it's not a good idea to leave even just a short block hanging on an engine stand for long. The rumor goes on that thin wall motors like 455 Buick and 403 Olds are more vunerable to "damage" from this.

    BS? Or support other end with block of wood or something?

    Years ago , there was a rumor that Bob Glidden used to put his pro stock motors together on a bench and never on a stand because it would egg shape the cylinders. Thats probably where that came from and it might actually be the case. Is it crucial in your 455 or 350 Buick motor?
