How is it meant to be around front window?

    Hi again.

These time its trickier then wiper-arms.

I have rebuilt the body and have just the front-window left (then sandblast and rustprotection), :beer
So I have removed the window and hurray lots of welding to do there.
    - The bow is okay, just 3 small holes.
But the bottom part is so bad, so its tricky to know how it is supposed to look like.

    ---------
So, I wonder if anyone has drawings or pictures on the window part (without the window mounted)? Or can explain how it is meant to be.
    ---------

The body has a lower area for cover/hold the window where you place the putty and so

Is it meant to be like this? :Smarty:
    1. body
    2. putty
    3. metal dashboard
    4. putty
    5. window?
    - all on the same place

or are there 2 heels, one for putty and metal dashboard and one for the putty & window?

Its tricky to explain, so some good pictures would be nice to see

    :eek2:

And is it meant that the metal dashboard are mounted in the corners with 1 screw per side, close to the window?

    Thanks! :Comp:

    Conny,
Easiest way to fix that item is to get a donor dash/cowl section. Someone on here is parting out a 4 dr. See if this section is good. It can be easily shipped since it is not heavy.

I realize that also, but it will take a lot of time I have a really good guy who welds for me, so I dont doubt that he can make it, I just want to see a picture how its meant to be
-Havent anyone a picture or seen a website where they are restoring?

Lets say I buy from a donor, what you call this zone Im hoping there
Is an easy name on this part of the car so I just can name it and get it without crazy descriptions to the donor-owner

    Donor question:
    1. This part are the same between convertible and 4dr ?
    2. This part are the same on other cars if so, what donor cars can I take from who matches my Electra 1968 ? (I know a "local" wildcat 67, same?)

    (Thank you for your answer!)

67-70 Fullsize cars such as Wildcat, Electra should have the same dash metal. Will be much faster and easier to splice in a donor section that making the metal forms from scratch. Both 2 and 4dr will have the same metal dash structure.

I recently was told that the 66 and 67 have the same dashboard/panel?

Doesnt it mean that the 66 and 67 have the same window also, and if so
I could take the metal from a 66 also?

    70+ changed design?

(Just asking to get clear on what I can order and not, sorry for asking a lot)

    Thanks! :) :TU:

I have just talked to a man who sell some parts, and I asked for the sheet metal to my window (dash metal?)

And he told me that the windows are the same on Cadillac and Buick 67 68.
Could the sheet metal be the same even if it is from a Cadillac?

(the metal who holds the lover part of the front window, and the wipers)

The Electra 1965 looks the same as 1967, can it be so?
(with the wipers and the wiper-sheet metal)
