Could 4 people lift a '70 Skylark body off the frame and be able to carry it a few feet? I am thinking of getting a Skylark, and I have to transport it across the country. I have someone who wants everything but the body so we would have to pull the body off the frame and be able to move it around enough to get it back in the trailer with no lift. Would this be possible with 4 guys?

    No!

I would say "No," especially if the body is laden with all glass, interior, ac/heat, doors, etc. Now if you can really strip the body and move toward 6 or 8 people, things start to look a little different. But I'd recommend moving to Plan B.
If you think about it, the bare chassis is not really that heavy; maybe a couple hundred pounds. Add drive train, suspension, wheels, brakes, etc. and you're around a ton or so. Front clip is another hundred or two. You're still looking at an unstripped body shell that weighs in at close to a ton.
Totally stripped, I'd say it would guess it to be about 800 lbs or so. Not really "manageable," especially for 4, even for just a few feet.
You'd be taking an awful chance in terms of SAFETY, both for YOURSELVES and for the car and surroundings. You need to rent two cherry pickers. cheap insurance... Hope this helps!
