There are more ways than one to attach this piece. I think you will see multiple methods discussed here.

I personally used a 1/8 inch bead of automotive seal/caulk. I think it's a 3M product. It comes in rolls or coils of X amount of feet. All you have to to is press it into the clean, open channel of the stainless molding and then press it on to the glass.

Any other methods? I'm sure someone knows of the original sticky black stuff that was used originally.

The original stuff was a rubber/tar type paper tape about 1/16" thick that you can still buy at local glass shops. You would need to pull the rubber off the chrome trim, then heat this tape up and wrap it over the leading edge fof the glass, then put the chrome on and tap it evenly along its length while supporting the glass. Basically it just wedges in there and holds it that way, then you slide the rubber trim back on.

Thats how the factory did it, the glue method is probably easier (unless you ever need to remove it again).

Does anybody know where I can get new ones of these? My rubber is horrible. Are they the same as a Chevelle convertible? I'm sure those are made.

    Year One P/N

    Quarter Chrome: BM7110LHRH - $108.00 per pair :eek2:

Rubber Weatherstrip with steel insert: CC101F - $27.95 ea

So you figure by the time they send you the wrong parts, and you send them back (postage paid by you of course) and you get the right parts, it'll only be about $225 by the time it's all said and done. :error:

    Sorry, I had to. :Dou:
