Lets say I wanted to have a little fun before I build up a 455 for my car. Would it be dangerous to do a cam swap on the old 400? I'm not sure how many miles are on the motor but it runs well and has good oil pressure. I'd hate to put a cam in and wipe out the cam bearings because of the wear pattern with the bearings and old cam. I just wanted to liven up the motor a little while I save up some cash to do a stout builup on the 455. Thanks
why not add some more reargear or a little higher stall. This may complement your 455 build up and your not throwing away money when your done with the 400. Just my opinnion
I am also working on a upgrade for the rear. Eventually I would like to run a set of 3.42's or 3.73's out back with a larger tire. I'm just a little fired up coming back from the nats seeing and hearing all of the sweet cars rumbling by. I'm just chomping at the bit I guess to put some go fast parts on my car.
Is the 400 the original block ?? and are you planning to keep it when you put the 455 in ?? If so.....you may want to consider the consequences of grenading it especailly if its tired now
