Hi All, I know some of you have a GN or TType as well as your v8. How and with whom are you insuring them with. Im planning on getting a GN soon and I will be driving it significantly. Who is providing full coverage insurance on a 31 year old car? hector
I have 2 agreed value policies through American modern, very happy thus far (no claims yet though, knock on wood). Should you be so inclined, contact Brad Conley here on the board. He can hook you up.
You had better check to see if Grundy capped your underinsured coverage at your state minimums. This seemed to be their practice for a long time. I think this practice continued even after they were acquired by Philadelphia Insurance. When this occurs you get some real crappy coverage.
And that's exactly why our agency does not represent Grundy. I don't need an Errors & Omissions claim at this stage of the game. While I would love to help the OP out, unless he's in Ohio I cannot (his IP address does not come back to Ohio). We're working on a license in KY (one of my producer's is licensed in KY already) but until Congress changes it to a license good in any state, I'm sort of stuck.
Check out the staggering % of cars by state being driven with no insurance coverage. Then, add to this number the huge % of vehicles being driven with inadequate insurance coverage limits of liability. The resulting number suggests that the odds of you having a claim against an person driving a vehicle with either no or inadequate coverage is very high. For this reason you need to have your own insurance coverage ready for such an event. Accordingly, Grundy would not be on my list of carriers. https://www.carinsurance.com/Articl...rage-state-averages-of-uninsured-drivers.aspx States with the highest and lowest estimated percentage of uninsured drivers Highest Lowest Rank State % uninsured Rank State % uninsured 1 Florida 26.70% 1 Maine 4.50% 2 Mississippi 23.7 2 New York 6.1 3 New Mexico 20.8 3 Massachusetts 6.2 4 Michigan 20.3 4 North Carolina 6.5 5 Tennessee 20 5 Vermont 6.8 6 Alabama 18.4 6 Nebraska 6.8 7 Washington 17.4 7 North Dakota 6.8 8 Indiana 16.7 8 Kansas 7.2 9 Arkansas 16.6 9 Pennsylvania 7.6 10 D.C. 15.6 10 South Dakota 7.7
I am with American Collectors. It's $175 per year with a 5k mile per year driving tier. Agreed value of $16k (I should boost it $3k) + value automatically increases annually....I forget how much. No issues but never had any claims. HTH
I have Classic Collectors (Infinity) on my GS and, before I sold my WE4 Turbo T it was also on that policy. Stated value at $25,000 was about $200 a year and I could drive it 5,000 miles a year.
Mine is a daily drivet. Real nice shape, but..... just pip & liability. Saved enough over the last 25 years to buy the car many times over.
I have Hagerty for three of my cars. I haven't had a claim, but a girl that lives down the street had her 1970 AMX out for the first time and got into an accident. She was at a local cruise in and got out of the car, and left the door open. The car went in reverse, the left door hit a car and bent the door forward. That pushed the entire front clip to the right, which pushed the right door into the right quarter panel. The car stopped rolling when it t-boned a van. She had Hagerty and they paid everything with no problems.
