I am restoring a 57 Roadmaster and I need the horns repaired. I see nothing in Hemmings or other such magazines for any hints as to repair outlets.

I found a guy in upstate New York who will do the job, but he wants an unreal amount of money to do the job. Seems like it was about $200 or so.

There are rebuild kits available for 55, 56 and 57 Chevys - imagine that! The 57 is a different kit than the 55 and 56. Do you suppose there is a chance that the Chevy rebuild kit will work on the Buick? Is the horn about the same and only the mounting and the tone are different?

If no one has the answer, I think I'll just go ahead and order a kit (it is only $20) and see what happens.

    Sure would appreciate some advice.

I would check the contacts in the horns and the horn relay before I spent the money on a kit. Make sure you have power going to them (when needed)and a good ground to the body/radiator support.
