Hood hinge ID - Atwood, Rockford, Illinois

    These showed up with a stash of '66 Pontiac Le Mans parts dumped at local yard. Sure don't look like first gen A body hood hinges. Have Atwood Manf stamp on them, Rockford, Ill. Some kind of RV hinge?? Certainly clean are blasted like the Le Mans front fenders and skirts were. A google search of Atwood turned up a history of a metal fabricator, started out with vacuum cleaners, then branched out into all kinds of metal products, including hood hinges.

    I don't know what they are for but I do know they are not GM A-body hinges.

    Sounds logical with the Chrysler (Belvidere,Il.) plant being the next town east. ws

    That is them. They (Atwood) was apparently purchased by Dura Industries in the early 00's, according to an internet search. Those employment trends listed - 1980 v. 2005 sure do not look promising.
