I'm not sure if this is where I should post this but it's a start.

Is there supposed to be a hood emblem on a 1971 skylark convertible? If so does anyone have a picture of it? There are holes in the front of my hood on the pass. side that look as if a badge or emblem of some type goes there.

The '72 Skylark had a hood emblem, '71 did not. Perhaps someone replaced the original hood at some point. Although the holes should be on the center top. Not sure what you mean by pass. side. Like George said, need pics.

well he said the holes are on the passenger side
I believe the 72's had it in the center on the ridge.

So I think it must be from something else thats not original.

Interesting, perhaps it had some kind of emblem put there - definitely not from the factory though.

The two vertical holes in the center makes me think maybe someone had the B-U-I-C-K emblems on there.:Do No:
Can you tell if there were more holes filled in on the other side?

From your pic....you have a 70 hood on it...not a 71-2...those holes are for BUICK letters.

Not surprising.... a 70 hood, seats from a 95 monte, a 350 dated 1973. After 31 years you have to expect this stuff.

Thanks for all of your replies!

Sorry for the late posting, but for what its worth, my 71 Custom Convertible has the round Buick trishield emblem right in the center of the hood. Iam fairly certain the hood is original to the car.
