has anyone noticed the price of meat....%#$$$$$%^*...more than doubled in most cases...6 months of this and I will have 2 close up shop....or raise prices 30%-60%....I just noticed how messed up the economy is gettingou: ou:
One case of "mad cow disease" up here in Canada and all our beef exports have been shut down. Ranchers in western Canada are going broke, entire herds of cattle are worthless, major economic disaster here. Lots and lots of cheap cattle and no buyers because the US government has closed the border so no Canadian beef is going south. The whole thing has been blown way out of proportion and everybody loses. Our ranchers go broke and can't give their cattle away while you watch prices go through the roof. Politics:moonu:
Is that why they raised the price of roast beef? I sell an Italian and Garlic flavored ones that were $6.99/lb. This week, they went up to $7.29/lb. Another one, plain, Black Angus, went from $7.99/lb to $8.59/lb :eek2: . Needless to say, I haven't cut any of that at all this week, I wonder why .
Has happened here Standing weight in august, we could buy for .73 cents lb. This week, 1.16/lb That is a large increase. the last 3 years it has been as low as .65/lb and was like that for quite some time. Completely politics in my opinion.
... I think the market makers r at play here..... ..I run a neighborhood restaurant...I'm spending about $400 more a week for the same amount of meat ....have 2 stop selling meat...or increase prices.....this is crazy...hate 2 do this 2 my customers...... my skirt steak, which is popular here has risen over %120 in price....even ground beef & hamburgers are up atleast 40% I'd hate 2 see prices at the local supermarketou: and dairy products & fish r up as well....its a fricken chain reaction
... goat meat....they hate goat meat in chicago... couldnt give it away now well...maybe they start hunting goats here in chicago...and then leave them as road-kill
