Hey guys I have a 1970 Skylark and was wondering if there was anyway to retrofit my headlights with projectors. I already have the projectors, I just need to know if there is anyway to put them in the headlights?

These cars use a sealed beam headlight. You can't open them up or modify them easily. They also have fluted lenses that would not work well with HID projectors.

Your options are to fabricate a bracket to hold the projector and fashion some sort of disk to fill in the open space. You might be able to modify the housings that are sold to install modern bulbs in sealed beam cars. These have a clear glass face. You'd have to cut open the back and arrange some form of aiming mechanism.

It's possible but it's going to take a lot of custom fabrication.

if you go to year one's website they have 2 or 3 modern lights for our cars...i cant remember exactly which ones they have but they have the HALO ring type lights that a few people on here like/have, and they also have newer type bulbs that are replaceable instead of having to replace the whole lights assembly like the old style

Seen a set of these in a Chevelle and they actually light up pretty good. And they really didn't look that bad. Was considering doing all 4 of mine in the Maggot if money permits..

I know old thread but just want to make sure if members do a search and found hid conversion thread that they'll be steered with the right route

for the hids kits to properly work without having a scattered beam/cutoff length you need the correct h4 houseing

    which are the E-Code housings
you can get them from here!

hella makes them too but pretty sure its hard to find trhe e-code version

    some quality looking hid kits

you'd want the h4 bi-xeon and dont bother converting the h1 hibeam only lights unless you dont mind having a delay till lights warm up...so either stick with stock hi beans or h1 conversion
