Any car that has been sitting in a field like this for a few years is usually DOA underneath. It will cost more to fix it than it is worth. Buy one alrealy done. It is cheaper.

Yes, we all appreciate a Buick that is "outstanding in its field", but not one that has been out standing in its field. I once had a couple of Mercedes-Benz's that I left in a field like that for 3 years, - and the once virginal undersides were toast. Be very careful, there's a very good chance that when you hook up a chain to your new purchase that you'll get clobbered by the front bumper as it flies off. Before cash changes hands, carefully look and poke around with a pick hammer, and be prepared to walk away. There are no new parts for those cars, and good frames aren't cheap if you can find them. Just my two cents...

Well, I went against most of your advice and bought the car for $500. It was a lot of jostling around getting it on and off the truck, so I think the frame is ok. Worst case scenario, I can get back what I have in it by parting it out.

Congrats on your buy, but i'm afraid that the bottom of the car will be more rust then steel, but miracles are possible, so show some pics from underneath the car asap, i'm curious how far the rustdevil has come, good luck from the other side of the big ocean :)
