Hey Skylark300 Skylark300, Yes Leet did the paint also. He has been doing all of the major work on my car. The pictures were taken in his backyard where his shop is, in Hesperia. I still have a ways to go on my 56 before I start on any other projects. I have to redo the entire inside of the car, from the carpet kit to the head liner and everything in between. I would like to fix my Mustang up someday, it's my everyday driver right now, until I get the Suicide56 back, I plan on driving her everyday, for a while at least. The 83 Mustang runs great, just needs a new paint job and new upholstery, I'd like to put a supercharger in it to start and then who knows from there so many possibilities with those cars. I can't really see the metalflake in the pics very well. any chance of some real close ups? Hey Don Don, those pics were taken on a rainy day, the sun was nowhere to be found. The car was actually pretty dirty, once I get the car all cleaned up and the sun is shining bright I will take some better pics of the car, including a close up of the black so you can actually see the metal flake, I was pretty disapointed when I saw how the pics turned out. Let me know of any upcoming shows I would love for you to see the car in person, do you and your wife go to the shows together? My wife and I are really looking forward to getting into the scene and meeting nice guys and gals who enjoy the whole car biz as much as we do, we will all have to hook up and hang out at one of these upcoming shows. Yep, it's bagged Yes my car is on airbags, even with the airbags it is a pretty rough ride because of the bias ply wide whites, comes with the territory though. Mike
56 Style Paint Scheme I think it looks good, I really like red and black together though, they really contrast when they are together. I like what you've done though as far as the layout of the paint. Mike
Where? Your car looks great. I've always thought the 50's more doors have great lines. You're going to fit lakes pipes on that? They fit in great with the style, but have you looked at the clearance between the rocker and the ground when the bags are down? It doesn't look like you'll have room, even for thin pipes. Are you planning to limit the bag travel, or hide some supports behind the pipes to protect them?
dude, the red and black suicide is dope.........i'm not so sure about the 70 car, but it's all about what you want! personally, i don't think the vents or the contrast lines go with the newer car's shape......maybe some different rims would accent it better? but that's just me, and i'm a moron -josh
Mikes '56 Mike your car looks excellent! There are far too few of those around! The red and black is the way to go with that scheme. Green and Black not so good. After seeing yours I just wanted to play around with the scheme and the pic of the Green car was the best side view I had. There aren't a lot of options with the '70 cars. It seems you either have solid color or GSX clone. ZZZZZZZZZZZZ! On a '70 car you could Airbrush all the '56 style chrome. Could be awesome if done right.... and on a red car.
