Last year I won best muscle car at a local show. I was chosen by a Mopar guy (sponsor's award). I remember the stir it created.....one guy yelled out "that's no muscle car" (I just smiled). Tonight I got a flyer for this years show......the muscle car class is now "MOPAR muscle 64-74".......no Chebby or Furd muscle, just Mopar. And I'm gloating all over again. :Brow:

Actually, it's politics......the sponsor being a Mopar club member himself prolly felt pressured to chose a car from the club. Rather than make his friends mad, he picked something non-Mopar that belonged to a non-club member. Most of the guys putting on the show belong to that club. :Smarty:

Yeah, I got burned at a local show several years back. Votes were for a POS Challenger 440 over my car. The guy wouldn't even lift his hood until I badgered him into it.. what a mess, wiring, oil everywhere, etc. But he was a club member and I wasn't. Lots of folks came up to me to say I shoulda got it. Oh well.

Got my kudos however. The local paper photographer took a couple shots of me and the GS and put a 6x8" color shot in the paper and captioned it "Local Muscle".
