Wow, that's exactly what I'm looking for!!! How'd you know? Boy, a certain 455 would go quite nicely in there.:3gears:
the 250 straight six is a chevy motor, I would bet it to be a chevy bellhousing them. Are all six cylinders post cars? I almost bought one 2 yrs ago, but I can't remember
I found one of these back a couple of years back and could kick myself for not looking at the rearend to see what it was. Probably had a low ratio. Had studded snow tires on the rear, so it might even have been a posi! What do you think? Did these inline 6's have good rears?
I parted out both a 70 and 71 post car with the sicks cylinder. 1 was a 3 on the tree and one was an automatic. The stick shift 70 car had a 3.23 rear and the 71 automatic car had a 3.42 rear. That was a nice surprise for me! Both open rears of course. I don't remember what trans the automatic had as I sold the drivetrain without really even looking at it. I recall being very happy I found someone who wanted it at the time.... I would like to find a post car to modify if it was rust free and cheap.(yeah right!)
71 post car......................that was my first 455 project!! Fun ride, I dropped a 71 455, manual brakes, aluminum drums all the way around, GS interior, 8.5 10-bolt 3.42 posi, non AC. The same color as the car in pooods avatar!! The Chevy boys never knew what hit them. Ask Floyd about all the blank stares I would get at the car shows in Beaver County. I never had a 455 emblem on the motor or on the car to give away my secret. I landed two dog dish hubcaps before I decided to get into G-bodies. I lost interest in it. I became tired of the sleeper dealo No: I want a car now, that people can see coming. My brother bought the car off me the day I said it was for sale. Good Luck!! Rumor says there is another post car in Rochester, PA. Ask Chris Larrick, I believe he knows the owner.
...but the trunk sprayed with rust isn't from the factory. Oh yeah, I'm the only one who's seen that.
I had a '68 Buick Special and a '71 Skylark that had that motor, both were post cars. I beat the crap out of those cars and I could not kill the motors. Both cars would do great one wheel peal burn outs, especially the '71 with studded snow tires..... I drove both of the cars to the junk yard with rusted frames...but they still ran like a top...
